Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, SUPARCO, has opened an exciting opportunity for scientists, researchers, and students to become part of the country’s first human spaceflight mission by submitting research experiments.
As Pakistan prepares to send its first astronaut to China’s Space Station (CSS) by late 2026, SUPARCO has called for experiment proposals that could be carried out aboard the orbiting station.
The agency is encouraging participation from people across the country, especially young researchers, to play a role in this groundbreaking mission.
The selected experiments will be conducted in the CSS’s special space environment, which includes conditions such as extreme temperatures, a vacuum, and microgravity.

Proposals can be from various scientific fields such as agriculture, medicine, biotechnology, fluid dynamics, material sciences, and astrophysics.
SUPARCO has emphasized that experiments should be lightweight, affordable, and practical to complete within seven days. They should also match the CSS’s research goals and support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The CSS orbits Earth at an altitude of approximately 380 km completes a full orbit every 92 minutes at a speed of 7.7 km per second. If selected, the experiments will be conducted using the station’s high-tech laboratories, and results could lead to global scientific recognition, patents, and new innovations.
The deadline for submitting proposals is April 30, 2025.
