Sindh’s Education Department has directed private schools to set up book banks to support students in need, following the vision of Provincial Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah.
Registrar of Private Schools, Professor Rafia Mallah, issued a circular urging school heads to implement this initiative.
The book banks will serve as a shared resource, involving schools, students, parents, and the community.
The circular encourages students to donate used textbooks to younger peers, fostering accessibility and sustainability.
Highlighting Sindh’s commitment to “Education for All,” the letter emphasized the importance of equal learning opportunities, especially for underprivileged students. It also stated that no school should impose conditions on students using donated books.
Each school is required to appoint a focal person to oversee the initiative, ensuring its smooth operation. The initiative aims to reduce waste, promote sustainability, and strengthen community support in education.
