Sindh government has canceled the Eid holidays for all Transport and Mass Transit Department officers and staff to prevent transporters from overcharging during the holiday season.
The senior minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the government aims to ensure smooth and affordable travel for the public during Eid-ul-Fitr 2025.
The decision allows authorities to take immediate action against transporters charging excess fares.
“Every Eid, complaints about overcharging become common. No citizen should pay additional fares,” Memon said.

To facilitate passengers, officers of the Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Regional Transport Authorities (RTA), and District Regional Transport Authorities (DRTA) will remain on duty throughout the province during the Eid holidays.
The government has issued strict instructions to take firm action against violators. Memon urged the public to report cases of overcharging instead of paying inflated fares.
“The Sindh government is committed to resolving public issues and will not allow anyone to exploit passengers for profit,” he added.
