A man in Karachi has been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a child pornography case following a complaint from the United States.
The US Consulate General lodged the complaint through Special Agent Christopher Peterson, accusing the suspect of blackmailing minors in the US.
The FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing booked him under Sections 16 (tampering with communication equipment), 22 (spamming) and 26 (legal recognition of offences committed in relation to information systems) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.

The suspect was presented before Judicial Magistrate Yusra Ashfaq, where FIA investigator Ameer Ali Khoso requested a 14-day remand. The court granted five-day custody for further investigation.
According to the FIR, after getting a search warrant, the FIA raided his residence in Gulzar-i-Hijri, seizing his mobile phone and laptop.
An initial technical analysis revealed child pornography material and threatening messages. Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway.
