Nearly 170 Pakistanis deported, 59 offloaded in Karachi

Pakistanis deported from 11 countries

In the last 48 hours, nearly 170 Pakistanis have been deported from 11 different countries including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, and others due to various offenses, with 59 individuals being offloaded at Karachi’s airport due to visa and travel document issues.

Immigration sources revealed that Saudi authorities deported 94 Pakistanis for offenses such as blacklisting, begging, drug dealing, illegal residence, working without a sponsor, absconding from employment, and violating contractual agreements.

Other deportations included individuals from Oman, Thailand, Iraq, UK, Cyprus, Indonesia, Mauritania, and Qatar, often related to illegal activities or insufficient travel funds.

In the UAE, 39 Pakistanis were deported after serving sentences for illegal activities, with several of them identified as blacklisted in the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS).

Among the 59 passengers offloaded at Karachi’s airport, many were heading to countries like the UK, Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, and Egypt.

The offloading was mainly due to issues with visas, hotel bookings, and insufficient funds. Some were also denied boarding due to rejections of asylum or student visa applications.

In a separate incident, the FIA’s Immigration Unit intercepted four women suspected of being trafficked for forced labor in Saudi Arabia.

The women had previously traveled to the country, and an investigation has revealed that a suspected trafficking network, facilitated by a woman named Aasia and a Saudi-based agent, was behind their travel arrangements.

The FIA is now gathering further information regarding the network.
