Sindh calls for social distancing amid rising H1N1 cases

Sindh Flu cases

In response to the growing number of H1N1 influenza cases in Sindh, the Director General (DG) Health Sindh has directed immediate actions to control the outbreak.

A letter from the Sindh Health Department has been sent to district health officers, medical superintendents of government hospitals, and other relevant authorities.

It urges strict monitoring of H1N1 cases in all hospitals, with a requirement for suspected and confirmed cases to be reported immediately to the provincial health office. Health staff must be provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits.

The letter also emphasizes the importance of raising public awareness.

Campaigns will encourage people to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and get vaccinated, particularly vulnerable groups such as medical staff, children, and the sick. All medical centers are being instructed to follow infection control protocols strictly.

District health officers have been asked to submit daily reports on the number of cases and any challenges faced. Health officials stress that preventative measures, including timely vaccination, are key to halting the spread of the virus.

The public is also being advised to avoid unnecessary crowds and consult a doctor if flu symptoms appear.
