Shaheen Shah Afridi joins elite club of Pakistan bowlers featuring Wasim Akram

Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has joined the elite group of bowlers, reaching the same number of wickets taken in the first over of the ODI.

Mohammad Irfan and Wasim Akram are topping the elite group bowlers’ chart with Shaheen joining them just below in the list.

Afridi achieved this record during the first match of the tri-series against New Zealand, where he got the wicket of Will Young on the fourth ball of the first over of the innings.

Following this wicket, Afridi levels the record with Umar Gul, who had also taken 9 wickets in the first over of ODIs.
