Navjot Kaur, wife of former cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, has been served a legal notice worth 8.50 billion Indian rupees by the Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS) regarding her husband’s claims of defeating cancer through dietary changes.
The notice demands evidence to back Sidhu’s recent statement that Kaur overcame stage 4 cancer using a diet plan devised by their daughter.
The CCS has argued that such claims could mislead cancer patients into abandoning allopathic treatments, potentially endangering lives.
Kaur has been given seven days to respond, failing which, legal proceedings may follow.
Sidhu had shared in an Instagram video that Kaur, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, had only a 5 percent survival chance but experienced a miraculous recovery within 40 days due to a strict diet regimen.
According to Sidhu, the diet excluded all food after 6 PM. Her morning began with lukewarm water mixed with lemon, raw turmeric, and apple cider vinegar. Neem leaves, basil, and spiced herbal teas replaced conventional tea.
Kaur also consumed juices made from beetroot, carrot, and amla, along with fruits like blueberries and pomegranates. Meals consisted of almond flour bread, salads, and vegetables cooked in coconut or olive oil instead of refined oils.
The CCS alleges such claims undermine the credibility of allopathic medicine and may encourage risky behavior among cancer patients.
The notice questions whether Kaur relied solely on dietary changes or also used medical treatments, demanding clarity to avoid spreading misinformation.
