In a daring incident, a truck carrying a wheat cargo was stolen from Karachi Port, utilizing a fake number plate and bypassing security protocols. The stolen wheat truck, lacking the necessary gate pass and papers, managed to exit the port without hindrance from port security, Karachi Port Trust (KPT), and customs officials.
The port authorities revealed that the incident occurred on October 21, and an FIR has been registered in connection with the theft. The importer, upon discovering the stolen wheat truck, apprehended it and handed it over to the KPT.
The General Manager of Karachi Port Trust stated that an inquiry is underway to determine how the truck was able to leave the port without the required documents and necessary checks. The incident raises concerns about the security measures in place at the port and highlights the need for a thorough investigation to prevent such incidents in the future.
