The electric bus service from Malir to Sea View in Karachi has been temporarily stopped, causing inconvenience to commuters. Buses on route one of the People’s Electric Bus Service have disappeared without prior notice, leaving people waiting for hours for an alternative bus.
According to the administration, the temporary halt in service is due to faulty charging ports affecting 12 electric buses. Efforts are underway to address the issue, with Chinese engineers working to restore the bus routes. In the meantime, regular People’s Buses are being deployed on the same route instead of electric buses.
Abdul Shakoor, the Operation Manager of People’s Bus Service, assured that the electric bus from Bahria One to Malir is operating as per schedule. However, commuters relying on the electric bus service on route one are experiencing disruptions and inconvenience until the issue with the charging ports is resolved.
The temporary suspension highlights the challenges faced by the electric bus service in Karachi and the importance of maintaining reliable infrastructure for sustainable public transportation. Passengers are advised to stay updated with the latest announcements and make alternative arrangements if necessary.
