Tejuri Heights to also be demolished, SC rules

The Supreme Court has ordered the demolition of Tejuri Heights. The Chief Justice on Thursday remarked that the building has to also be also been demolished as it is built on land owned by someone other than the builder and the documents have been altered.

A petition was heard in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry regarding the transfer of lands of Tejuri Heights.

During the hearing, the Chief Justice remarked that the building has to also be vacated as the title of the land deed may have been changed in government departments but not under the law.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said, "It is your wish, you can make a claim against the government departments. But for now, it has become clear that this property is not yours. It is yet to be decided if the land indeed belongs to the railways’ department or not.

After hearing the arguments the chief justice said: "Ask your client whether he will demolish the building on his own or does he need us to give an order.”

The court later adjourned the hearing till October 29.
