During the court hearing, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah acknowledged the need to eliminate obstructions but emphasized that pollution remains a larger concern.
Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab attended the Supreme Court session, revealing that over 500 generators are currently occupying footpaths in various areas of the city. He highlighted that certain generators, owned by private institutions including banks and hospitals, are contributing to pollution by emitting smoke.
In response, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah urged Mayor Wahab to identify specific generators causing pollution. While acknowledging the issue of generators encroaching on sidewalks, the justice emphasized the importance of addressing both the obstruction and pollution concerns.
