Sindh allows study to assess COVID-19 impact at UC levels in Karachi

Sindh Government has decided to carry out seroprevalence studies in Karachi to assess the outreach of the Coronavirus in Karachi.

The decision was taken in a meeting headed by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah who stated that in order to better assess the virus, surveillance studies will be carried on the community in two union councils of Karachi which have been most affected by the virus.

The pilot studies are set to be conducted in Kharadar and Kehkeshan.

Seroprevalence studies find out the number of people who test positive in a society for a particular virus.

The CM also stated that surveillance was essential and has issued orders to develop a Digital Assessment Application. Additionally, a team of 360 doctors have been assigned to check up on the patients who have recovered from the virus.

As of yet, the total cases of Coronavirus cases in Sindh have reached have soared to 7102 and 23 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total virus tally in Pakistan currently is 19103, with 989 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
