The recitation of Hamd, Naat, and Qawwali will also be taught to children by music teachers, according to Sindh Minister of Education Sardar Shah, who stated on Monday that music is not just about singing and dancing.
Sardar Shah stated in response to Mufti Qasim of Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) MPA’s notice regarding the hiring of music teachers for government schools in Sindh that the MPA had misquoted figures in the assembly.
The Minister of Education claimed that music is more than just singing and dancing and that a musician would have composed our country’s anthem. He added that music is taught in schools in many nations with a large Muslim populations.
A math teacher cannot instruct students on how to recite a hamd or naat, the PPP leader continued. Children were also taught how to recite hamd, naat, and qawwali by the music teachers.
Speaking of the hiring of Arabic instructors, Sardar Shah stated that it is already in the system. Over 4000 Arabic teachers are currently employed in 4,500 schools across the province.
He promised that the remaining 480 teachers would also be hired soon.
Early this year, the Sindh government decided to hire music teachers for the province’s BPS-14 public schools. The announcement was made as the fiscal year 2022–2023 budget was being passed.
