Based on reports of local media, about 31 people have been killed and 282 injured for resisting mugging in the city this year.
An Afghan group has been identified as being responsible for most of these looting incidents, as reported by local media.
Citizens are terrorized and many are opting to not carry their expensive mobile phones outside and not protest when witnessing any crime.

In October last year, Sindh Police had set up a “street watch force” to curb out crime in Karachi. 1870 policy personnel were recruited and positioned in district South and Old City Area, eight in district East, while 20 each in districts Central, Malir, West and Korangi.
The city seems to await its own Batman as responsible authorities once again fail to ensure the safety of its citizens and their property.
