This year Karachi has been ranked as the fifth cheapest city in the world to live in based on the Worldwide cost of living report released by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
The most expensive cities in the world are widely distributed among Europe, USA and Asia. These costly cities include Singapore at the top followed by Hong Kong and Osaka. Other cities include New York, Paris, Zurich, Tel Aviv and Los Angeles.
Most of the cheapest cities were from South Asia such as NewDehli, Banglore and Chennai.
Other cheapest cities in the world include Almaty, Tashkent and Buenos Aires.
The report is based on a survey of over 400 prices across 160 products and services such as food, clothing, utilities, recreational and personal care items in the cities. All cities are ranked on the basis of their cost-of-living.
Last year, Karachi Ranked 127th on the board out of 133 countries.
