Karachi and Hyderabad to have mobile vaccination units, announced Sindh government


Spokesperson of Sindh government Murtaza Wahab announced the beginning of vaccination through mobile units in Karachi and Hyderabad on Tuesday, said these two cities are badly affected with the 4th wave.


Talking to media in a press conference, Wahab said that the government is determined to increase the vaccination drive up to 250,000 people per day, whereas, 222,000 people had their jabs on Monday.


Provincial government has decided to deal with the crowd coming for vaccination, the mobile units will be operating in Karachi and Hyderabad, also 11 vaccination centres have been made functional round the clock, said Wahab.


He lamented that people only paid importance to vaccination after the provincial government announced to block mobile SIMs. “They do not care for their lives and mobile SIM is more important to them than their lives,” he said.


He blamed PTI for playing politics over the lives of the people, labelling lockdown as an unfair, said the lives of the people are on stake with the rising Delta variant in the province.


Wahab also urged the public to wear face masks, maintain social distancing and get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible.
