The Chief Meteorologist, Sardar Sarfaraz, has issued a weather forecast predicting intermittent rain in Karachi from July 23. Speaking on Geo News program Geo Pakistan, he also mentioned the possibility of heavy rain in other districts of Sindh, including Karachi, on July 23 and 24, with intermittent showers continuing till July 25 and 26.
While the second spell of rain is expected to bring good rainfall to Karachi, the Chief Meteorologist clarified that there is no likelihood of rain in the province on Ashura day.
Sardar Sarfaraz further forecasted a significant rain spell in Northeast Punjab on 9 and 10 Muharram. Rains are also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, and other areas during the same period.
Meanwhile, weather analyst Jawad Memon attributed the current weather conditions in Karachi to the influence of a circulation near Indian Gujarat, affecting the sea breezes in the city and causing a feeling of depression. He predicted light to moderate rain in various areas of Karachi in the afternoon, with the eastern and northern parts of the city likely to experience rainfall.
According to Memon, clouds from the Arabian Sea may move towards Karachi, resulting in intermittent rain until July 23. Karachi residents are advised to stay informed about the weather updates and prepare for possible rain during this period.
