ACP’s Pakistan Youth Festival 2023 kicked off in Karachi

Pakistan Youth Festival  2023 was inaugurated by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. A large number of youngsters participated in the inaugural day festivities. The festival was inaugurated by Anwar Maqsood, along with President of the Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi Khalid Iraqi. After the inaugural sessions Asim Azhar, Kashmir The Band, Jambrooz, Mustafa Baloch stole the festival with their performances.

In his inaugural address, Maqsood said, “I have come here for you, you are the children of this land, find your own way, the destinations will come before you.” 

President of Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah said that due to Covid and other unforeseen circumstances, the Youth Festival could not be held for the past five years. “The festival has been organised after five years and at least thirty thousand students have registered to participate in the activities.” 

“As the youth of this city and our country, you have to make your mark now. The better you do in life, the better it reflects on your institution and country. The only way to bring any real change in this country is by bringing about a positive change within ourselves.”

Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Khalid Iraqi, expressed his gratitude to the Arts Council for inviting him to the Youth Festival, he said, “I have been listening and reading Anwar Maqsood since I was studying in matriculation and it is a privilege for me to share the stage with him today. My message to the participants of this festival and to the country’s youth is simple, we are often afraid of difficulties, but the truth is when you decide to do something, you can do it. It only takes a strong will to make dreams come true.”

On the opening day of the ongoing Pakistan Youth Festival, auditions of 4 different categories were held in which thousands of male and female students participated. Auditions for the remaining 6 categories will continue till January 28 and the festival’s closing ceremony will be held on the 29th.
