Although the utility company had previously promised that gas loadshedding would not take place during mealtimes, customers of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), who live in various areas of the city, have been complaining that they lack gas for cooking meals.
Domestic consumers would only have access to gas for a total of eight hours per day, in the morning, afternoon, and evening, during "meal timing,” the SSGC officially announced on December 11.
But there are numerous complaints of either no gas or very low pressure during mealtimes, from wealthy neighbourhoods to low-income ones.
A spokesperson for the SSGC admits that there is a problem with low gas pressure in the city during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
