Amid rising street crimes, citizens of the metropolis appear to be taking matters into their own hands, with three robbers shot dead by civilians in separate incidents. Meanwhile, police have arrested eight other suspects involved in criminal activities.
In one incident near the Matric Board Office in Nazimabad, two robbers were gunned down by a citizen during an attempted mugging.
Central SSP Zeeshan Siddiqui confirmed the recovery of weapons from the slain suspects, stating that their identities are being verified, and a case will be registered accordingly.
In another case, a security guard shot and killed a fleeing dacoit near Shafiq Morr.
According to police, the suspect had just robbed a family when he was intercepted by the guard. His accomplice, however, managed to escape.

Simultaneously, law enforcement officials arrested seven dacoits in different areas of the city. One suspect was injured and taken into custody after a police encounter near Bhains Colony, while another was apprehended in New Karachi Industrial Area with a stolen motorcycle and weapon.
Additionally, three robbers were arrested in North Nazimabad’s KDA Ground, and two more were detained after a gunfight with police in Korangi No. 3.
A separate incident in DHA Phase 6 saw a citizen shoot and injure a mugger before police arrested him.
Karachi continues to struggle with rampant street crime, with at least 19 people losing their lives since January.
According to the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), February alone saw the snatching of 1,402 mobile phones, 3,773 motorcycles, and 195 cars across the city.
