Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan to deploy Army, Rangers for security

The federal government has decided to deploy Pakistan Army and Rangers for foolproof security arrangements for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament.

According to the media report, approval has been obtained from the federal cabinet for the deployment of the Pakistan Army and Rangers.

The reports further suggest that the Army will be deployed under Article 245 of the Constitution, while the deployment of Rangers will be done under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

It is pertinent to mention here that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to be hosted in Pakistan and UAE with the first match starting from February 19 at the National Stadium in Karachi, where the opening match will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand.

Teams from Pakistan, India, Australia, England, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and New Zealand will participate in this tournament, while UAE will host the matches of India.
