As part of their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan is set to host New Zealand and South Africa in a four-match ODI tri-series, starting February 8 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Pakistan enters the tournament with strong momentum after a 3-0 ODI series whitewash over South Africa in December, while New Zealand secured a 2-1 home series victory against Sri Lanka in January.
This marks Pakistan’s 42nd ODI tri-series appearance, having previously competed in tournaments such as the Benson & Hedges Cup, Coca-Cola Cup, VB Series, Morocco Cup, Sharjah Cup, Kitply Cup, and Carlton & United Series.
Pakistan first played a triangular tournament in the 1981/82 Benson & Hedges World Series Cup against Australia and West Indies.
The team last participated in an ODI tri-series in 2008 (Kitply Cup) against Bangladesh and India and last hosted one in 2004, featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
