The International Cricket Council (ICC) has received an overwhelming response from Karachi residents, as tickets for the first match – released by the ICC – between Pakistan and New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 almost sold out within hours of going on sale.
The ticket sales reflected the excitement surrounding the tournament, with fans eager to witness the thrilling match between the host and Kiwis.
The ICC is expected to release more tickets for the tournament opener, however, as of 11:27 PM on January 28, only 22 tickets remain available, according to the official website.
The seating capacity of the National Stadium Karachi, according to the Project Manager – Bilal Chauhan, has temporarily been reduced from 32,000 to 28,000. However, an additional 2,000 people can still be accommodated in the pavilion.
