Islamabad to hire thousands of new policemen to ensure law, order

In response to PTI’s repeated sit-ins and protest calls in Islamabad, the federal government has decided to hire thousands of new policemen to ensure law and order in the capital.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the creation of 1,934 additional posts for the Islamabad police force, aimed at addressing the increasing challenges related to the law and order situation in the federal capital.

As per media reports, the government sources confirmed that the Ministry of Interior submitted a summary to the Prime Minister for approval, which was later approved.

The new positions include 24 Grade 12 Inspector posts, 50 Sub-Inspector posts, 100 Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posts, 180 Head Constable Posts, and 1,580 Constable Posts.

Farhan Aslam, Deputy Director of the Management Services Wing, communicated the approval to Ayesha Javed, Section Officer at the Ministry of Interior.

The Ministry will now seek approval from the Finance Division for the necessary budget allocation to fill these positions.
