Hajj Pilgrims to get passports in 24 hours

The Director-General of Passports has announced the launch of special counters for Hajj pilgrims, which will allow them to obtain their passports within 24 hours.

DG passport, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, revealed that these special desks will be established at passport offices across Pakistan, including regional offices and passport offices globally.

This service will prioritize Hajj applicants, ensuring that their passports are delivered within 24 hours.

Karachi residents who wish to apply for Hajj 2025 but have an expired or unmade passport can visit one of the city’s passport offices from 9 am to 5 pm.

The passport fees vary based on the processing type, with regular passports costing around Rs 3,000, and urgent passports priced at Rs 5,000.

The applicants should bring all necessary documents, including their CNIC, photographs, old passport, and relevant supporting papers.

Moreover, in a bid to make Hajj more affordable, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has successfully negotiated a reduction in airfare for the 2025 Hajj season.

Pilgrims will now pay $50 less per ticket, with the airfare dropping from $850 in 2024 to $800.

This reduction applies to 35,000 pilgrims traveling with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and Saudi Airlines.

Additionally, Saudi Airlines will also transport 35,000 pilgrims to the holy sites.

This reduction in travel costs is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to reduce the financial burden on Pakistani Hajj applicants, amid rising travel and accommodation expenses.
