Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has clarified rumors circulating on social media that he opposed performing in Saudi Arabia due to the country’s proximity to religious sites.
In a statement to journalist Maliha Rehman, Aslam refuted the claims, stating that he had previously performed in Riyadh, which he sees as “the best way of proving our opinion on the topic at hand.”

Reports earlier suggested that Atif Aslam was opposed to performing in Saudi Arabia for religious reasons, but he quickly set the record straight, calling the statements “funny and strange.”
He stressed the importance of accuracy in reporting, saying that media and artists share the responsibility to verify information before publishing or commenting on it.
