Intermittent Rain Continues in Karachi

Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city and economic hub, has been experiencing intermittent rainfall for the past few days. The city is no stranger to heavy monsoon rains, which often lead to urban flooding and other related problems. The recent rains have brought some respite from the sweltering heat and high humidity, but they have also caused traffic disruptions and damage to property.

A meteorological analyst has predicted that more rain clouds are coming towards Karachi, and there is a possibility of heavy rain in most areas within one to two hours. "The current spell of rain is likely to continue for the next few days, with occasional breaks,” he said. "People should take precautions and avoid going to low-lying areas.”

The analyst also warned that there is a possibility of hailstorms in some areas of Karachi. "Hailstorms can cause damage to crops, property, and vehicles,” he added.

The city administration has urged citizens to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel during the rain. The authorities have also activated their emergency response mechanisms and are closely monitoring the situation.

In the wake of recent rains, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has intensified its efforts to clear storm drains and remove encroachments from nullahs (streams). The KMC is also working with other agencies to ensure the safety of citizens and minimize the impact of rain-related disasters.

As Karachi braces for more rain in the coming days, residents are advised to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to avoid any untoward incident.
