PM keeps petroleum prices unchanged, for the next fortnight

Petrol prices Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to maintain petroleum prices at their current levels and reduce electricity prices, passing on financial relief to the public.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that this decision is part of a broader strategy to ease the financial burden on consumers.

“A comprehensive package is being prepared to ensure a meaningful reduction in electricity prices,” the statement read.

The government aims to utilize savings from global oil price fluctuations and other financial adjustments to lower electricity costs. The official relief package will be announced in the coming weeks.

Following the recent fuel price cut, petrol is currently priced at Rs 255.63 per liter, high-speed diesel at Rs 258.64, and light diesel at Rs 153.34 per liter.

Officials believe that lowering electricity rates will help curb inflation and provide relief to households and businesses.
