The Karachi Commissioner’s Office reported that 142 profiteers were fined a total of Rs. 1,199,000 on the 10th day of Ramazan as part of the ongoing crackdown against profiteering. One profiteer was arrested, and two shops were sealed.
Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi emphasized that the campaign against profiteering would continue, directing Deputy Commissioners to ensure price control measures provide relief to citizens.
According to reports, District South fined 33 profiteers Rs. 269,000, while District East issued fines of Rs. 525,000 to 23 violators. In the West, eight were fined Rs. 47,000, with one arrest. DC Central recorded 21 cases with Rs. 121,000 in fines, Korangi District fined 29 offenders Rs. 144,000, and Keamari penalized nine violators with Rs. 24,000.
In the past 10 days, a total of 1,627 price violators have been challaned, 119 profiteers arrested, and 93 shops sealed across Karachi.
