SBP launches VPN portal for enhanced security

SBP VPN Portal

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced its transition from web-based to Virtual Private Network (VPN)-based access starting May 30, aiming to strengthen security in the increasingly digital financial system.

According to media report, the central bank issued a circular outlining its efforts to digitize the process of receiving applications and suggestions from regulated entities (REs).

It has also streamlined the dissemination of regulatory decisions through the Regulatory Approval System (RAS).

Additionally, the SBP has introduced a service desk system to address complaints from REs regarding its managed portals, including RAS.

The bank has urged REs to acquire appropriate Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) accounts to ensure compliance and a seamless transition to the new VPN-based system.
