The Sindh government will officially assume control of the Green Line and Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems on March 10.
The decision was approved during the 14th meeting of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority Board, chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Discussions were held regarding the legal validation of agreements, with plans to send related documents to the Law Department for review.
It was also decided that the current human resource structure of both BRT lines would be retained for three months to ensure a smooth transition.
Minister Sharjeel Memon reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing modern and efficient transport facilities, stating that the takeover would help enhance Karachi’s public transport system.
