Advanced security equipment has been installed at multiple airports across Pakistan to enhance safety by detecting flammable materials.
According to a PIA spokesperson, modern EDSCT security scanners have been deployed at Karachi, Multan, and Faisalabad airports.
Additionally, a new baggage handling system will be introduced under the JICA project, improving security screening processes.
"With these advanced scanners, detecting hazardous materials will be more effective,” the spokesperson said.
The tendering process for the security equipment has been successfully completed under JICA Japan Phase-2, with officials from the Pakistan Airports Authority attending the contract signing ceremony.
