The rising number of child fatalities due to open manholes has led to another heartbreaking incident in Surjani Town’s Hassan Brohi Goth, where a three-year-old boy lost his life after falling into an uncovered sewer.
Rescue officials identified the child as Asadullah, whose body was recovered and shifted to the hospital for formalities.
According to the police officials, Asadullah was playing outside his home when he accidentally fell into the manhole.
His father had called a sweeper to clean the drain, but after the work was completed, the manhole was left open.
