Karachi’s Water Corporation has been placed on high alert ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, following instructions from Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
Managing Director (MD) Asadullah Khan has directed officials to complete all water supply and drainage arrangements at Karachi’s National Stadium.
A special team, led by Shahbaz Bashir, will oversee operations, while engineers Shafqat Hussain and Waqar Ahmed will manage drainage services.
Free water tankers, jetting machines, and emergency staff will be available during the event to deal with any complaints or emergencies.

Mayor Wahab expressed pride that Karachi is hosting the tournament, ensuring full cooperation with the PCB.
As the host city, Karachi is fully prepared to showcase its cricket infrastructure and hospitality for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab stated.
He emphasized the city’s cooperation with the PCB and Sindh government institutions, including KMC and the Water Corporation, to ensure smooth operations.
Mayor Wahab thanked the PCB for selecting Karachi as a host city, calling it a positive step for cricket on the global stage.
