Renovation work at the National Stadium in Karachi has been completed for the upcoming tri-nation series and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with several matches set to take place at the venue.
During a media briefing, the Project Director, Bilal Chauhan, announced that the upgrades include the installation of two large digital screens, new floodlights, and the completion of various enclosures and facilities.
The project director disclosed that a 30-foot by 80-foot digital screen has been installed, along with a 22-foot by 37-foot screen, providing clear and high-quality visuals for spectators.
Although some spectators seated behind the digital screens may face slight visibility issues, overall, the stadium has been designed to offer a state-of-the-art experience for fans and players alike.
Chauhan stated that the floodlights have also been added to all six pillars around the stadium, ensuring better visibility for evening matches. In addition, new seating has been installed throughout the stadium, making it comfortable for spectators.

The renovated stadium features two main sections: the new building has been named “Pavilion End,” while the older building will be known as “Karsaz End.”
Chauhan also mentioned that the players’ dressing rooms in the old building will be converted into “Platinum Boxers” to cater to VIPs and special guests.
The stadium’s parking area, originally planned for 2,700 cars, will now accommodate 2,200 vehicles, while the total seating capacity of the stadium has increased to 28,000, according to Chauhan’s statement.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also planned beautification work around the exterior of the stadium, and branding will be added to the vacant areas.
Chairman PCB has made arrangements to honor the workers who contributed to the renovation by organizing a lunch and an exhibition cricket match on the opening day.
Bilal Chauhan confirmed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) is in constant contact regarding the improvements, and the stadium is ready to host future international events.
