The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has announced that K-Electric will conduct its annual maintenance at the Walika Grid Station on February 2, from 10 am to 4 pm.
This scheduled shutdown, lasting six hours, will disrupt power supply to the Hub Pumping Station, causing a water shortage of 28 million gallons per day (MGD) in the West District and Keamari areas.
However, the city will continue to receive water from the Dhabeji Pumping Station, with a total supply of 622 MGD, slightly reduced from the usual 650 MGD. Residents of the affected areas are urged to conserve water and store it in advance to avoid any inconvenience during the maintenance work.
K-Electric’s Deputy General Manager Grid System Operations made the request for the scheduled maintenance.
