Sindh government is set to take over the operations of the Green Line bus service in February, as disclosed by the Senior Provincial Minister.

The Provincial Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, chaired a high-level meeting, focused on finalizing the formalities for transferring the management of the federal project to the provincial government.

In addition to the Green Line, the meeting also discussed the potential handover of the Orange Line bus service.

The Secretary of Transport was instructed to review the legal aspects to implement reforms in the project agreements.

Minister Sharjeel Memon confirmed that the Green Line service was originally scheduled to be transferred in January, but the Sindh government is now ready to take over in February.

He noted concerns about expensive contracts made by the federal government for the Green Line and assured that, after the handover, the provincial government would reassess the project.

Memon emphasized that the Green Line is a vital transportation service for Karachi’s residents and that providing a reliable and comfortable public transport system remains a top priority.
