Karachi has witnessed an increase in dog bite cases in the first 25 days of 2025.
According to Dr Romana Farhat, in charge of Rabies Clinic, more than 2,000 cases of dog bites have been reported at the Civil Hospital.
“Daily at least 150 cases of dog bites are being reported at civil hospital, Karachi,” Dr Farhat said.
Additionally, emergency In-charge Dr Irfan stated that 1,500 cases of dog bites were reported at Jinnah Hospital in the 25 days of the first month of 2025.
On the other hand, medical experts stated that it is necessary to wash the dog bite wound with soap immediately, and the affected people must complete the anti-rabies vaccine and preventive course.
