The police officials arrested two more accused allegedly linked to the rape and murder of minor boy Sarim, whose lifeless body was found in an underground water tank of an apartment in North Karachi.

Karachi police officials, in a statement, claimed to have arrested two individuals from the apartment where the body of the seven-year-old boy was found 11 days after he went missing.

The police will investigate the suspects and take blood samples of the arrested accused for testing.

The official added that some IT experts will be joining the investigation committee to assist in covering all the bases of the case.

Earlier to this, the DIG West formed a four-member committee to investigate the Sarim case, following the postmortem report of the seven-year-old victim.

The lifeless body of Sarim was found in an underground water tank of the apartment near the North Karachi area, 11 days after he was reportedly missing from a nearby madrasa on January 7, 225.

As per the police statement, the lid of the water tank was covered with a carton, while the autopsy report confirmed sexual abuse with the minor kid before he was strangled to death.

Refereeing to its post-mortem report, the SSP Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Anil Haider asserted that the minor boy was raped, tortured and murdered after being kidnapped.
