Two arrested in Karachi over using fake documents to obtain US visa

After receiving a complaint from the American consulate the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) – Anti-human trafficking Karachi chapter – conducted an operation in Karachi and arrested the two individuals trying to obtain a US visa over fake documents.

As per the details, the two individuals – identified as Raza Hashim Alvi and Ameer Hamza – were arrested from outside the American consulate in Karachi.

The accused Raza Hashim submitted fake reports at the American consulate to obtain a medical visa, later, the report was sent to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital where the hospital, which confirmed that the reports were forged.

The authorities after an initial investigation revealed that the accused possesses an intermediate degree and wants to travel to the US for the sake of a better future and employment.

The accused obtained the fake documents including the required bank statement from an agent in exchange for Rs 30,000.

Following the accused’s identification, the officials conducted a raid and also arrested Ameer Hamza – involved in forging documents to obtain the visa.

The police are conducting raids to arrest more accused involved in forging documents for the same purpose, the spokesperson said.
