Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has issued new guidelines regarding the issuance of final exit visas for expatriates. The rules highlight the importance of the Iqama (residency permit) validity when applying for the visa.
To qualify for a final exit visa, the Iqama must have at least 30 days of validity left. If the validity is less than 30 days, the employer or family head must renew the Iqama before applying for the exit visa.
For Iqamas with 30 to 60 days of validity, the exit visa will be issued for the remaining duration of the Iqama. If the Iqama is valid for 60 days or more, the final exit visa will be granted for 60 days.
The Jawazat’s clarification aims to ensure smooth procedures and minimize delays, encouraging timely Iqama renewals.
These updated guidelines reflect Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to streamline administrative processes for expatriates.
