Pakistan has strongly rejected recent remarks made by the Indian Army Chief, who insinuated that Pakistan is the ‘epicenter of terrorism.’
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release, these claims are not only unfounded but also an attempt to deflect attention from India’s actions in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as its internal human rights violations.
The statement from the Indian Army Chief is seen as an effort to shift focus away from India’s repression of minorities and its brutal treatment of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).
Pakistan condemned the Army Chief’s remarks, stating that they reflect a politically motivated and duplicative stance aimed at justifying India’s actions in Kashmir.
Pakistan pointed out that the international community is aware of India’s use of hate speech and transnational repression, including its forceful measures against innocent civilians.
These actions, according to Pakistan, have only strengthened the resolve of Kashmiris to fight for their right to self-determination as outlined in UN Security Council Resolutions.
Furthermore, Pakistan reminded the arrest of Indian spy agent – Kulbhushan Jadhav – in 2016 to Indian General who has been captured in Pakistan while planning terrorist acts, which the Indian Army Chief seems to have conveniently overlooked.
Pakistan called for professionalism and civility in the Indian Army’s leadership and expressed hope that state-to-state conduct would guide India’s military actions instead of political motivations.
