Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is set to procure over 1000 vehicles in two phases, according to the official letter.
The FBR officials penned down a letter of intent to a private company for the procurement of 1,010 vehicles, with an estimated cost of Rs 6 billion.
The purchase will be carried out in two phases, with FBR saying in the letter that a payment of Rs 3 billion will be paid upfront which will be considered as full payment for the 500 vehicles.
The remaining amount of the vehicles will be paid after the delivery of the second consignment which will consist of over 500 vehicles.
The vehicles are expected to be delivered between January to May 2025, with 75 vehicles expected to be delivered in January, 200 in February, and 225 in March during the first phase of the procurement.
The letter also indicated that 250 cars will be delivered in April and 260 in March in the second phase.
The FBR spokesperson stated that the purchase of the vehicles is part of the FBR’s transformation plan.
The spokesperson added that these vehicles are being purchased to improve the efficiency of field officers, and these vehicles will be for field officers only.
