Sarfaraz Ahmed parts ways with Quetta Gladiators ahead of PSL 10

Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed announced on Sunday that he would be parting ways with the Quetta Gladiators ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

Sarfaraz made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a picture with franchise owner Nadeem Omar.

He expressed pride in his nine-year journey with the team, calling it a "wonderful and beautiful” experience.

“I want to thank Nadeem Bhai for giving me the opportunity to play for his team and for providing everything I needed as a player and captain. Your support will always be remembered,” Sarfaraz wrote.

He also extended his best wishes to the Gladiators and thanked the team management, with special thanks to Azam Bhai.

Sarfaraz, who has been with the Gladiators since the PSL’s inception, was released by the team earlier this month.

This will be his first time entering the PSL player draft, after playing 86 matches for Quetta and scoring 1,525 runs at an average of 29.32, including seven half-centuries.

Moreover, Sarfaraz Ahmed – who led the Gladiators to their maiden and only PSL title in 2019 – captained the Gladiators for eight PSL seasons until he was replaced by South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw in the previous edition.
