Electricity consumers in Karachi are likely to get a huge relief in bills.
As per media reports, K-Electric has submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), regarding fuel price adjustment for the month of November.
The power consumers in Karachi are expected to receive a relief of Rs. 4.98 per unit.
NEPRA has scheduled a hearing for the plea on January 15.
This comes after NEPRA approved a 40 paisa per unit increase in the power tariff for K-Electric consumers in November, which will be reflected in consumers’ January 2025 bills.
Additionally, consumers paid an extra Rs. 3.17 per unit in their November bills as part of a June 2024 adjustment and Rs. 3.03 per unit for December due to the July 2024 adjustment.
K-Electric had originally requested a 51 paisa per unit increase in the August monthly adjustment, but NEPRA approved a 40 paisa rise. The notification for the tariff hike has already been issued.
