Karachi Landhi Medical Complex solar Karachi City

Karachi’s Landhi Medical Complex to be converted to solar energy, says Wahab

Aimed to address the ongoing power outage issues at the hospital, ensuring a more reliable power supply for its operations, Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, has announced plans to switch the Landhi Medical Complex (LMC) to solar energy.

The mayor highlighted that LMC, which was previously non-operational despite having its building and staff, is now fully functional with improved emergency services.

The hospital has also revived its mortuary, which is now open.

In addition to the solar energy conversion, the mayor revealed that LMC would soon offer a drug rehabilitation center, managed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), to help rehabilitate drug addicts.

Additionally, a plan to set up a cardiac care unit and a dental unit at the hospital is also under consideration.

Discussing recent conflicts between two officers at Jinnah Hospital, Wahab stated that courts should avoid interfering in internal institutional matters, emphasizing that attempts to harm institutions are sometimes intentional.

He further added that Karachi, once considered one of the world’s most dangerous cities, has now achieved significant peace and stability.
