Lanjar visits Huawei HQ in China for Karachi’s Safe City Project

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, the Home Minister of Sindh, visited the headquarters of Huawei Technologies in China to assess the equipment required for Karachi’s Safe City project.

As per media reports, Lanjar during his visit held a meeting with Huawei’s senior officials focused on the provision of cutting-edge technology and security equipment that will be used in the initiative aimed at enhancing safety and surveillance across Karachi.

Huawei Technologies is supplying critical equipment for the Safe City project.

During his visit, Lanjar toured Huawei’s Dongguan R&D village, where he was shown demonstrations of advanced security technologies, including medium – and small – sized drones.

These innovations, according to the minister, have the potential to significantly contribute to the technological advancement of Sindh.

Lanjar also visited Huawei’s LTE network equipment assembly line, where officials demonstrated the company’s latest automated processes that ensure efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality production.

Huawei highlighted that their world-class technology is well-suited for projects like Safe City.

The home minister’s trip is being recognized as a crucial step in leveraging technology to ensure the success of the Karachi Safe City project.

Lanjar was accompanied by a delegation that included Muhammad Iqbal Memon (additional chief secretary, home), SP Ahmed Chaudhry (PSO to the minister for home and law), DIG Asif Aijaz Sheikh (Sindh Safe Cities Authority director general), Bilaluddin Sheikh (planning, policy & coordination specialist, home department), and Tabassum Abbasi (chief technical officer, Sindh Safe Cities Authority).
