Mastermind behind Karachi airport signal blast identified

Critical developments have emerged in the investigation of the second case related to the suicide blast targeting a Chinese convoy near Karachi Airport.

A Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) report submitted to the court identifies Bashir Ahmed Baloch, alias Bashir Zeb, and Abdul Rehman, alias Rehman Gul, as masterminds of the attack, both linked to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

The attack was executed by slain terrorist Shah Fahad and arrested suspect Javed, who confessed to the planning and execution of the attack outside Karachi airport.

The report highlights that the vehicle used in the blast was purchased for Rs 7.1 million through a private bank in Hub Chowki and loaded with explosives.

Additionally, a private bank officer and an account holder have been implicated in facilitating the attackers financially.

The case, filed by the Airport Police Station SHO, includes charges of terrorism, funding, explosives, and murder.

It is worth mentioning here that the attack near Karachi airport resulted in the tragic loss of two Chinese nationals, one Pakistani, and injuries to 21 others.
