Board approves infrastructure of Karachi Education City

The Karachi Education City Board of Directors has approved key developments, including infrastructure construction, the establishment of a Special Technology Zone, and a 45MW power plant.

The board meeting, co-chaired by Dr. Asim Hussain, Chairman of Karachi Education City, and Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh, took place at the Karachi Education City office.

Key approvals included the development of roads, facilities, and a Special Technology Zone spanning 374 acres.

The board also greenlit a business-to-business power plant project combining solar, wind, and thermal energy to ensure a sustainable 45MW power supply.

During the session, a revised site plan for institutions and allottees was endorsed.

Additionally, a detailed briefing highlighted the electricity supply and distribution strategy and the progress of the Special Technology Zone’s master plan, which will soon be submitted to the Special Technology Zone Authority.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Investment Sindh Raja Khurram Shahzad, Project Director Abrar Sheikh, and representatives from Aga Khan University, among other board members.
